For new moms, it can be upsetting and frightening to have feelings about motherhood that seem out of the ordinary. I have additional education and training in perintal mood disorders and understand that hormone changes, personal and family history, and social support are all vital factors in understanding and alleviating postpartum symptoms. Talking through the challenges of new motherhood and exploring ways of coping with them can significantly reduce the negative emotional impact. Together, we’ll address the underlying issues and create a strategy for moving forward.

Research shows that untreated relationship issues can result unhappiness, chronic stress, and countless health problems. Couples therapy offers proven strategies for relationship repair. Through this work, I offer evidence-based strategies that are tailored to meet the needs of each unique couple. Some common goals for couples therapy sessions include improved communication, greater trust, improving intimacy, better understanding of one another’s needs, and improved conflict resolution skills. In some cases, the goal of couples therapy is not to stay together but rather to figure out how to separate peacefully, especially when there are children involved.
